THE LATEST BOYDS BEAR BUZZ:Inspired by a very special little girl... Reagan Emery Williams Boyds is honored to introduce Reagan Emery. Named in memory of a sweet little girl whose short life has inspired a community to rally for a worthy cause. Back in July 2006, we received a very touching letter from Reagan's paternal Grandfather, Greg Williams. Greg shared the story of a visit he and his wife, a Boyds Collector herself, made to Boyds Bear Country in Tennessee shortly before Reagan passed. He told us about the bears they brought back for her and another granddaughter and how the bear went everywhere with Reagan. Sharing the news of Reagan's passing, he asked if we would consider naming a bear in her memory. So moved by Greg's story, we waited for just the right bear to name in her honor. When we looked at the sweet face of one of the newest additions to the My Favorite Things collection, we knew we had found the perfect namesake. Inspired by simple childhood pleasures, the My Favorite Things collection celebrates precious memories. It is our hope our cuddly little Reagan Emery bear brings some comfort and joy to her family.Today, both Reagan's maternal and paternal grandparents have joined forces to create Reagan's Rescue with the mission to bring Shaken Baby Syndrome awareness and education to the forefront and to support local organizations in the East Central Illinois area which aid families and children at risk. Looks Like Somebunny Got Into the Egg Dye Again!
The Mad Hatter doesn't have anything on the hares in the 2008 Easter collection! These furry friends look like theygot locked inside the egg dyin' room...and went a little crazy!! We're not even real sure how it happened at all. One minute we were preparing the dye for our annual egg painting event, and the next day we open the door to find a room full of colorful hares (and boy do we mean colorful!)We suspect that Wabbit was the guinea pig of 'em all. This oversized hare is colored from head to tail in pretty pastel shades of bubble gum pink, canary yellow, even some purple and blue. Did you see his cute little face? It looks like he took a nose dive right into the green dye as well. But we guess that's ok…cause he made color-pickin' much easier for the rest of the gang!
Hippity liked the color on Wabbit's face so much that he decided to jump straight into the bucket of green dye himself. His gal pal, Hoppity, is one of those girly rabbits…you know, the kind that you always find at "hare" salons getting' all gussied up! She couldn't help but choose her favorite pink shade to cover her cuddly self with! Pair these two up with the multi-colored egg they're holdin' and you got a winning pair o' hares! And we're just guessin' here…but there musta been a bucket of yellow egg dye nearby, too, cause Daffy's covered head to toe in the warm sunny shade!
But not all the hares in the bunch were looking to change their appearance. Polly decided to keep her color "au natural" and just spruce herself up a bit with a colorful egg-print neck ribbon as she holds on tight to the newest chick in town, Lil' Quacker. Dottie Hopsalot followed right along with a matchin' neck ribbon…but added a lil' egg embroidery to her footpad for some Easter fun! The fashion queen of the bunny trail, Buffy B. Bunny, spared no expense when it came to lookin' her Easter Sunday best! Her pink and purple print dress features subtle embroidered accents, toile touches and a pink felt hat with fabric flower & button accents that sit just right over her long floppy ears. This pretty-in-pink hare was even an inspiration to her bestest buddy, Eggbert, who's nestled inside a fabric egg-shaped basket with his own pink and purple print neck bow!So if it's color yer looking for this Easter holiday, the gang from the Easter 2008 collection has got you covered. And if yer feeling that warm, fuzzy, "I wanna do something nice" Easter spirit…you can stop in and see us! That darn egg-dyin' room could use a scrubbin'...and we sure could use some help! Show Mom How Much You Love Her... 2008 Mother's Day Collection™
When yer little, its comforting to know that Mom is holding yer hand as you stumble. But as you grow, things begin to change...and you learn to fall and pick yerself up all on your own (nevermind the fact that mom’s antique crystal vase was in a million pieces underneath you…that’s a whole other story!)
It was Mom’s resilience to all those stumblins’ that gave us inspiration for our 2008 Mother's Day Collection, and we couldn't be prouder!Each and every piece in the collection is designed to remind Moms (and Grandmoms!) of just how much we appreciate all they did (and do!)
